Welcome to the first class blog!

Greetings Toucans,

This week we have been finishing off our pirate topic and filling in some other areas of learning before we start our new topic next week…space!

Here is the link to our Pirates playlist:

Can you do all the dances yet? If you have an older or younger sibling maybe you could teach them? Or maybe one of your adults when they have a moment. Dancing is great fun and it is important to have fun (it is also one of your rights as a child) but why else is dancing good?

On Tuesday Miss Brown taught you about staying healthy. Can you tell your adult some of the many ways we can stay healthy? How do we keep the different parts of our bodies clean?

In maths we have been practising our positional language. The videos below will help you practise it some more. Now can you look around your home and use your positional language to say where different objects are? For example “My teddy is on top of my bed”

In phonics we need to practise our phase 3 tricky words:

he, she, me, we, be, you, all, are, her, was, they, my

…and if you aren’t quite sure of your phase 2 tricky words then make sure you learn those first!

I, the, no, go, to, into

We have also recently been learning the sh and ch digraphs which sometimes can get confused so do practise them. Remember a digraph is two letters that make one sound and you must write those letters in the right order!

Peaches practise the two ways the oo digraph can be said:

Remember to stay busy children, as long as you have your imagination you can never be bored! Play, draw, make, write, do some learning and stay healthy.

Thinking of you and missing you all – do add a comment and I’ll get back to you 🙂

Love from,

Miss Linsley
